The front firing 2x12 speakers provide the sound heard from the front of the cabinet. The rear firing speaker (10") provides either negative (out of phase) or positive energy (in phase) via the selector; this allows you to select the sound of open back vintage style (2x12+10" out of phase), closed back (sealed) with only the front firing 2x12 (Good ol ROCK!!), and then you can select 2x12 with the rear firing speaker in phase for an open back sound (room filling) without the bass loss of open backs and without the "out of phase sounding" side response.
Finally the cab can be flipped around to use the 10" as your single front speaker, this is a huge 10" sound, you can add in the 2x12 (now rear firing) as positive or negative energy as well, this gives you the sound of multiple 10" even though you have just the one speaker. The cab is not much heavier than a standard 2x12. The sound guy will love you because he can mike the 12" and 10" and blend the sounds, so you get the sounds of carrying two cabs...and yes, he should hit phase flip on his channel strip when using the cabinet phase flipped.
Keeping the cab sealed allows the speakers better damping, while still providing the open back sounds we love..plus a few more tricks you never heard before. The cabinet is also currently available in a 4x10 front firing, 1x12 rear firing configuration.

Je to sice v aktualitach, ale rad bych to prodiskutoval podrobneji. Co znamena ze neco zni out of phase? Setkal sem se s tim ted pri vyberu monitoru/bednicek. Pry kazda bedna s basreflexem ma ty basy out of phase. Jake zarizeni musi byt pred tim zadnim reprakem?

To s tim bassreflexem vubec nevim, ale out of phase docilis tim, ze otocis polaritu repraku - kdyz sou repra dopredu a maji otocenou polaritu tak se znatelne zmeni zvuk (predevsim se ztrati basy). Dozadu je ten reprak zapojenej ve fazi, ale vysledek je, ze membrany se pohybujou proti sobe a tim jsou out of phase.
Jinak je to teda drsna silenost, docela by me to zajimalo, jak to zni.

Out of phase je to u basreflexu pouze pod rezonancnim kmitoctem, nad rezonancnim kmitoctem je to ve fazi. A ty membrany ve fázi, co se pohybujou proti sobě, taky nejsou out of phase.

Jestli to chapu dobre, tak by stacilo jen prehazovat dratky uz zadniho repraku. Jestli to je takhle jednoduche, tak to vyzkousim. Jestli to funguje tak jak pisou, tak je jidina chyba ze se pri dvou moznostech ze 4 meni impedance a ja mam jen jednu Hotplate.

To že se membrány u tohodle poohybujou proti sobě neznamená že jsou v protifázi. Při nízkých kmitočtech kdy je vnější vzdálenost mezi předním reprem a zadním menší než 1/2 vlnový délky tak se přihlíží spíš k tomu že membrány jdou zároveň dovnitř (nebo ven). Při vyšších kmitočtech jsou ty repra směrový a vzájemně se neovlivňujou.

Takze kecaj? Jak myslis ze bude znit ta bedna zepredu pri zapojenech vsech repracich pro pripad ze se zadni pohybuje stejne nebo proti?

Rozdil bude jako mezi open back a closed back. Když bude ten zadni reprak nezapojenej tak to bude spis jako bassreflex s pridavnou membranou.
